Recommendation day

Hey lovely people who check my blog from time to time :)

Hope you all woke up and are having a great day!

Since I love the weekly thematic posts that some of the film blogs have, I wanted to make one of my own, but I really can't do it without your help!

I was just thinking yesterday, during a class about media ethics and values, that I need a new book! So, who better to ask then this fun crowd for recommendations?

This week I am hunting for a good action-filled, fast-pace, page turner book; the one that makes you take it to the kitchen because you can't leave it out of your hand, in the desire to see what happens next! Any recommendations on that?Think that you are not doing it just for me, but also for the other 10 people to read this blog :) [don't worry, the number will grow eventually]

In the case that you don't read books or can't think of one right now, you can apply the same principles to a movie!

Wednesday, 26th October-  a good action-filled, fast-pace, (page turner) book or movie!

Start typing people! Thank you! :)

  3. In terms of page turners, I love the work of Bret Easton Ellis. Any one of his books will keep you utterly enthralled. But be warned, they’re pretty graphic... in an amusing sort of way.

  5. Hmmm. This is hard! I love a lot of books but I don't know if you can call them page turners! More like emotion changererer... or something like that. Hmmm. I'll have to think about it more.

  6. You'll understand when you read them. For instance, whenever he introduces a character in 'American Psycho' (I mean introduces them period, not just for the first time), he describes, in detail, exactly what they are wearing and how much it costs.

He handles violence similarly. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

  9. The Confession by John Grisham is very good. I'm currently reading You Deserve Nothing - it's a pageturner but not really a thrilling book.

  11. I can concur with Alex re: American Psycho. It is some book. I don't have time to read much these days (something I want to rectify) so I'll recommend a film. Black Narcissus (Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger, 1947) is an incredibly beautiful film shot in Technicolour. It is one of the best films I have ever seen and goes places a film about nuns dared to go. If you can find it - library, torrent, purchase, I can highly recommend it. Best film I watched this month - and I also watched Chinatown :-p

  12. A film about nuns sounds great :) and I realised I actually like old movies (1947 qualifies)and I should see more of them, so I will try to find it online, maybe torrent will help! thanks Andy!
